Bipolar Disorder is believed to be caused by imbalances of neurotransmitters in the brain. It is treated with lithium or anticonvulsants as mood stabilizers, as well as with antidepressants. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), which affect neurotransmitter levels in the brain, are also effective.
This page is dedicated to the exploration of Bipolar Disorder, with a hope that a better understanding of ourselves will help us teach others to understand.
